COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Thirteen champions were crowned over the last month at the 2010 USA Hockey Adult National Championships. A total of 81 teams competed for titles at the U.S. Checking, 30 & Over, 40 & Over, 50 & Over and 60 & Over levels, as well as in the Women's Recreational 40 & Over and 50 & Over categories.

U.S. Checking - Fond du Lac, Wis.

USA Green Bay Deacons Wright Homes 6-5 (OT)

The USA Hockey Adult National Championships kicked off in Fond du Lac, Wis., April 8-11 with the U.S. Checking division. The Green Bay (Wis.) Deacons avenged a preliminary-round loss to Wright Homes (Minn.) with a 6-5 overtime win in the championship game, marking the third consecutive year that a team from Wisconsin took home the U.S. Checking crown.

30 & Over - Tampa, Fla.

Tier II Cyclones Fighting Saints 10-5

The 30 & Over division featured two tiers, with both championships taking place April 15-18 in Tampa, Fla. In Tier I, No Bull (Fla.) topped Tuscola Energy (Mich.), 6-3, for its second straight championship, while the Cyclones (Fla.) captured the Tier II title with a 10-5 victory over the Fighting Saints (Fla.).

40 & Over - Tampa, Fla.

The 40 & Over USA Hockey Adult National Championship also took place in Tampa, Fla., April 15-18, as Team Easton (Ill.) toppled the Black Knights (N.Y.), 5-1.

50 & Over - Tampa, Fla.

Both the 50 & Over and 60 & Over USA Hockey Adult National Championships were held one week later (April 22-25) in Tampa, Fla., as well. The 50 & Over division was divided into three tiers. In the Tier I championship game, Heartland (Minn.) denied IMS (Fla.) its second consecutive title with a 4-3 win. Meanwhile, Florida Sons of Beach blanked the Carolina Blackhawks (N.C.), 4-0, to claim the Tier II crown, and the Florida Wolves knocked off the South Jersey Wheels (N.J.), 3-1.

60 & Over - Tampa, Fla.

The USA Hockey 60 & Over Adult National Championships featured two tiers. In the Tier I title game, Byfuglien Trucking (Minn.) beat Michigan Sting Elite, 4-1, to capture its second consecutive national championship. Meanwhile, the Fitchburg (Mass.) Old Knights knocked off defending national champion Michigan Sting Rec., 4-3, for Tier II bragging rights.

Women's Recreational 50 & Over - Ellenton, Fla.

Finally, the USA Hockey Women's Recreational National Championships took place last weekend (April 29-May 2) in Ellenton, Fla. In the 50 & Over division, the Cape Cod Geri Hat Tricks (Mass.) edged the defending champion Minnesota Lady Slippers, 3-2 in overtime, to claim the Tier I title. Meanwhile, Team IMS (Fla.) topped the Lady Lobsters (Mass.), 3-1, for the Tier II crown.

Women's Recreational 40 & Over - Ellenton, Fla.

Avalanche Dallas Retro Brandon Hockey Chicks 2-1 (OT)
Nationals Rusty Blade Runners Lucky Pucks 2-1

At the 40 & Over level, Dallas Retro earned a 2-1 overtime victory over the Brandon (Fla.) Hockey Chicks to win the Avalanche division championship. In addition, the Rusty Blade Runners (Alaska) also took a 2-1 decision over the Lady Pucks (Fla.) to win the Nationals division title.
